பாம்பார்டியர் நிறுவனத்தின் ‘லியர்ஜெட் 60’ ரக விமானம், டெக்சாஸ் மாகாணத்தின் ஆஸ்டின் விமான நிலையத்தில் இருந்து பஹாமாஸ் நாட்டுக்குப் புறப்பட்டது. நவம்பர் 1-ம் தேதி மதியம் சுமார் 12.50 மணியளவில், புளோரிடாவின் பாம் பீச் கவுண்டி பகுதியில் உள்ள குடியிருப்புக்கு அருகே விமானம் திடீரென கீழே விழுந்து தீப்பிடித்தது.

விமானத்தில் இருந்த 9 பேரும் உயிரிழந்ததாக அமெரிக்க போக்குவரத்துத் துறை அதிகாரிகள் உறுதிப்படுத்தினர். விமானம் விழுந்த இடத்தில் சாலையில் பெரிய பள்ளம் ஏற்பட்டதுடன், தீ மற்றும் புகை பரவியது. அருகிலுள்ள மொபைல் வீடுகள் அமைந்த பகுதியில் வசித்த சுமார் 600 பேர் பாதுகாப்பு காரணமாக வெளியேற்றப்பட்டு, தற்காலிக முகாம்களுக்கு அனுப்பப்பட்டனர்.
